A total of 265 films- 180 straight Telugu movies and 85 dubbed movies were released in 2016. It’s a good year for Tollywood with decent success ratio. Positive thing is many small and content based movies became hits. 

While the year began with hit film 'Nenu Sailaja', it is ending with 'Appatlo Okadundevadu' that won praise from the critics. Interestingly, buzz was low on both the films before they hit they hit the screens. Ram was going through bad phase with flops, wherein Sree Vishnu is not a popular star.

Nenu Sailaja ended as biggest hit for Ram, wherein first day collections of ‘Appatlo Okadundevadu' are said to be decent. With all the other films released yesterday got lukewarm response and extreme positive talk for Sagar K Chandra’s directorial would help this film to rake good collections from today.

Nannaku Prematho, Express Raja, Soggade Chinni Nayana, Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gaadha, Kshanam, Guntur Talkies, Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam, Sarrainodu, Supreme, A Aa, Gentleman, Pelli Choopulu, Janatha Garage, PremamEkkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, Dhruva are the true commercial hits in 2016.
