Updated : Apr 4, 2017

We might have heard several times about casting couch in industry. While several heroines refuses to talk about this, few dares to disclose dark side in film industry. The beautiful and daring actress Parvathy Menon who played one of the heroines in Rana Daggubati starrer Tamil film Bangalore Naatkal revealed shocking facts in an interview.

Parvathy also recalled her struggling days, when she faced difficulties in signing a film because she refused to give into lustful demands made by some of the Malayalam filmmakers.

“There are people in the industry who ask women to sleep with them in order to get a role. I have been asked. They ask very blatantly as if it is their right. I have said ‘no’. After a point, when you have made a mark in the industry, they won’t ask you,” Parvathy said.

When she was asked whether the casting couch is practiced in the Malayalam film industry too, she replied saying, “Of course there is casting couch in the Malayalam industry. I’m sure that you know that and I know a lot of people know that. I don’t understand why it comes as a surprise at all. It is there in many other industries also. It’s a reality, why are we even shocked about it?”
