Ponniyin Selvan, the magnum opus directed by veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is one of the most ambitious projects in Tamil cinema history. The first instalment of the historical drama, which was released in theatres in September 2022, became one of the Tamil film industry’s all-time highest-grossing films. 

Now the Ponniyin Selvan 2, the second instalment of historical drama franchise, is released recently and got a positive talk from everyone. Even Telugu audience who didn't liked the first part impressed with second part.

But the collections for the film are not as expected even in own state. Everyone thought with new releases this film will be vanished. However, the film slow and steadily raised collections with repeat audiences and positive WOM.

The film has now become the Highest grossing Tamil film of the year. The film will continue its solid run few more days. The film is vanished in other languages but still successfully running in Tamil theatres.
