Macho Hero Gopichand is in desperate need of a success. Will Oxygen provide him some relief? Let’s see…
Story:
Jagapathi Babu and Sayaji Sinde are heads of two faction groups in a village. Shinde is waiting for opportunity to kill everyone in Jagapathi’s family. Jagapathi’s elder brother is killed in an incident, but he gets to know that Shinde is nothing to do with it. Interim, Jagapathi fixes his daughter’s (Raashi Khanna) marriage with Aravind Krishna (Gopichand) who is a techie in USA. When Jagapathi Babu and family is making arrangements for marriage, half of the family members are killed by an unknown person. Who is he? Why the anonymous person has targeted Jagapathi Babu family?
Positives:
1. Gopichand
Negatives:
1. Predictable Narration
2. Direction
3. Lack Of Entertainment
4. Weak CG Work
Analysis:
Director Jyothi Krishna opted to an age old story. He forcibly incorporated many threads to the story. Movie actually starts with homicide of Jagapathi Babu’s father. Then, story moves to a village where there’s family feud between Jagapathi Babu and Sayaji Shinde. Actually, the reason for this thread is to confuse audience about killings in Jagapathi Babu Family. The Jathara episode was pretty old and ordinary. Then, the action sequence in bridge was acceptable. Interval bang is predictable with killer is shown. Gopichand is given second introduction in second half as a military jawaan. His romantic track with Anu Emmanuel was tedious and family emotions were also naïve. You will hardly find any pleasing elements in second half with unremitting mind-numbing episodes till end.
Artists Performances:
Gopichand looked handsome in two shades. While he looked manly in military man getup, he was traditional in techie avatar. However, Gopichand was needed to perform some risky stunts. Coming to heroines, Raashi Khanna was good as village belle and Anu Emmanuel disappoints to the fullest in terms of performance. Jagapathi Babu was wasted completely. Ali provided some relief here and there. Other artists were okay.
Technical Aspect:
Jyothi Krishna has failed in all the departments including direction. Neither the story, nor the screenplay was convincing. He indeed discussed an illogical issue. Chota K Naidu and Vetri’s cinematography was moderate and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja was below par. Editor Uddhav should have chopped many scenes in second half. Production values of Sri Sai Raam Creations are good in standard. In fact, producers poured excess money on this film.
Verdict:
Oxygen is not at all worth watching in theaters. Better skipping this one.
TeluguOne Perspective:
