Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan was a mega-hit when it was released on September 30, 2022. The two-part film is based on a novel written by Kalki of the same name. But the film got mixed talk in Telugu states as audience couldn't understand the emotion and characters.
But before the release of the first part, the movie was widely talked about and created much buzz online, even in Telugu states too. However, now that the second instalment is gearing up for its release this month, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is not creating much hype.
The film also has less hype in Tamilnadu. Makers are now focussed only Tamil ignoring all other languages. There are only few press meets in other states. As makers projecting it as Pan India project, but not making efforts.
Akhil Akkineni's high budget spy thriller AGENT directed Surrender Reddy is releasing in Telugu. It appears that this medium range film will definitely use this opportunity in Telugu states.
The film has good hype among audience and makers coming with unique promotional strategies to impress. We have to wait and see how these both films fare at the box office.
