Samantha's Shaakuntalam' released in the cinemas on April 14th in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, this Gunasekhar-directed film is produced by Neelima Guna and presented by Dil Raju. The massively mounted film Shaakuntalam based on internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play ‘Abhijnana Shakuntalam.'

The producers have told that the movie’s budget is around 80 Crores. Now the movie has opened with a disastrous number of around 1.5 Crores share in the Telugu states and worldwide it will be around 2 Crores.

And from next day the movie has completely crashed at the box office, and it looks like the theaters getting rents itself is an achievement. The movie is heading towards becoming disaster in epic proportions.

The opening weekend completed and it failed to gross double digits. This is a BO disaster of the highest order. Non-Theatricals can’t save the day either with satellite pending.

This prestigious project has its music composed by Mani Sharma. The ensemble star cast includes Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhu Bala, Gautami and many other notable actors. This is Allu Arha's debut film.
