Akkineni Nagarjuna clarified his decision to enter politics. He is currently promoting his upcoming film The Ghost and has made significant remarks on the occasion.

Nagarjuna is close to AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. In the aftermath of the YCP's defeats in Vijayawada in the 2014 and 2019 elections, there has been speculation for a few days that he will run as a YCP candidate for the Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat. In this context, Nagarjuna provided clarity.

He stated that he had no plans to enter politics. He stated that there is no truth in the ongoing campaign for Vijayawada MP. Furthermore, he expressed his displeasure that they campaign in this manner every time elections come around.
