Maniratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' Ignored Telugu States

Recently in Bollywood, the film "Brahmastra" was released as a pan-India film in all languages, and it was a box office hit in Telugu. "Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1" is another pan-Indian film that will be released soon.

This period drama helmed by legendary director Mani Ratnam will be presented to the audience. The film, which features a stellar cast, will be released in theatres worldwide on September 31.

Needless to say, this film will do well in Tamil Nadu. However, this film must be effectively promoted in Telugu. But the producers of the film are preparing to release it in Telugu at least without changing the title of the film.

Collections in both Telugu states have now been critical for any film. Brahmastra and KGF were also well received by the Telugu audience, resulting in the films being blockbusters.

The Brahmastra film team has spent a lot of money on Telugu promotion. However, Mani Ratnam is not interested in promoting in Telugu, which surprises everyone. According to trade insiders, recognising the value of the Telugu market, it is better to advertise the film in Telugu as well.
