Superstar Krishna experimented with scripts, new filmmakers, genres and also technology. He introduced many technologies to industry and did several cowboy, spy and patriotic films.

In fact, Krishna's sensational film Gudachari 116 was the first spy film in Telugu. The film written by Arudhra and directed by M Mallikharjuna Rao starred Jayalalitha, Rajanala, Mukkamala and Sobhan Babu in pivotal roles. The film was remade in Bollywood as Farz (1967).

Gudachari 116 completed 51 years by yesterday. The film was released in 11th August 1966. Interestingly, Krishna's son Mahesh Babu is now doing a spy thriller film titled Spyder which is being directed by AR Murugadoss.

While Krishna introduced the 'Spy thriller' genre to Tollywood, his son is starring in a film of the same genre after 51 years. What's more, Spyder is being made simultaneously in Telugu as well as Tamil with highest ever budget in Mahesh Babu's career.

Let's hope, Mahesh Babu too will enthrall spectators in Spy role, like his dad did 51 years ago!
