Updated : Sep 12, 2015

Recently it was revealed that Bengaluru-based entrepreneur-producer Ashok Kheny wants to make a biopic on Tipu Sultan. And who could be the best actor to play this? According to Tamil producers, Superstar Rajnikanth was approached to play this role.

Some Hindu outfits from Tamilnadu are however against to the 64-year-old southern superstar starring in this film. Because they say Tippu Sultan is anti-Tamil. Hindu Munani leader Rama Gopalan has urged the superstar to desist from doing so. In his statement, Gopalan said that the film will be an attempt to portray Tipu Sultan as a freedom fighter. According to Gopalan, Tipu was ‘anti-Tamil’ and hence no Tamil actors including Rajinikanth should star in the film.

The other day some Muslim outfits issued Fatwa on AR Rahman for scoring music for a film being made on Prophet Muhammad. Where's India heading?
