As we all know, both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states have given tax exemption for Natasimha Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer Gautamiputra Satakarni. Usually, Telugu governments charge 15% entertainment tax from all films and they rarely give tax exemption, if a film promotes Telugu culture or tradition or history.
Fortunately, since GPSK is story of a Telugu emperor, both the governments have accepted to exempt GPSK from entertainment tax. As of Sunday, the Krish directed film has minted a worldwide share of Rs 47 crores. Thus, GPSK benefited nearly Rs 7 crores, with 15% entertainment tax was relieved for the film.
Balakrishna, Shriya Saran and Krish’s USA Tour comes to an end and they will come back to city today (Jan 23rd IST).
