Megastar Chiranjeevi met and congratulated legendary filmmaker K Viswanath for being conferred the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the country’s highest award in cinema.  Megastar is said to be very much happy when he learnt about this rare honour to Viswanath. They spent close to an hour talking.

Winner of multiple National Awards, Viswanath has directed 50 films, known for their strong content, endearing narrative, honest handling and cultural authenticity. Chiranjeevi and Vishwanath had worked together in three Telugu films: “Subhaleka”, “Swayam Krushi” and “Apadbandhavudu”.

Chiranjeevi won the Best Actor Filmfare award for his performance in “Subhaleka”, which raised pertinent questions about dowry system.
