Spider-Man: Brand New Day has achieved another major box-office milestone in North America, overtaking Avengers: Endgame to become the second-highest-grossing film of all time domestically. Tom Holland’s latest outing has now crossed the $858.37 million domestic haul of Endgame, leaving only Star Wars: The Force Awakens ahead with around $936.6 million.
The achievement is particularly significant because Endgame had represented the ceiling for Marvel’s domestic theatrical performance for years. Brand New Day has now surpassed that benchmark despite being a solo Spider-Man film rather than an Avengers ensemble event. The film had already announced its arrival by opening to approximately $360.1 million domestically, beating Endgame’s $357.1 million opening record.
What makes the run even more striking is that Brand New Day has maintained strong momentum beyond its opening. The film has remained at No. 1 for multiple weekends and has continued adding substantial numbers even after crossing the major franchise milestones. Its domestic total currently stands at around $893.7 million, putting the $900 million mark within immediate reach.
The success also gives Tom Holland his biggest domestic Spider-Man outing yet, comfortably moving past Spider-Man: No Way Home, which finished with more than $804 million in North America. Interestingly, No Way Home had the obvious nostalgia advantage of bringing together Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, while Brand New Day has managed to achieve an even bigger domestic run without relying on that same multiverse hook.
Globally, the film has been equally formidable, crossing $2 billion worldwide in just 17 days and becoming the second-fastest film to reach that milestone after Avengers: Endgame. It has since climbed further up the all-time rankings, showing that the Spider-Man brand remains one of the strongest theatrical properties in the world.
