Zubeidaa is introduced through a disturbing episode from her past. At a railway station, she reaches a point where she decides to end her life, only to be stopped by something far more basic — hunger. With no other option, she begins begging to survive. The sequence captures the desperation of a woman pushed to the absolute edge, making the character’s backstory immediately impactful.
