Raveena Tandon and her family recently faced a shocking breach of trust as Mumbai Police arrested their long-time caregiver for theft. A 47-year-old woman named Rashi Chhabria, who looked after the actress's 86-year-old mother Veena Tandon, was taken into custody. She allegedly stole gold and diamond jewelry worth approximately Rs. 25 lakhs from the family residence.
The caregiver had been working closely with the Tandon family since 2020. Over the years, she managed to earn their complete trust and was allowed access to the private sections of the house. According to the police, she misused this freedom to break into a secure locker and remove the expensive valuables.
The missing items were first noticed last year during the Dussehra festival. Raveena's brother, Rajiv Tandon, realized that several luxury watches and diamond ornaments were missing from the house. He immediately approached the police and filed a formal complaint to track down the stolen goods.
During the initial police questioning, the caregiver completely denied having any hand in the robbery. However, as the investigating officers gathered more concrete evidence against her, they were able to make the arrest. The Mumbai Police have already recovered a portion of the stolen jewelry and are continuing the investigation to find the rest.
