Ram Charan is starring in the upcoming highly anticipated sports drama Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, which is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on June 4. Returning five years after his debut film Uppena, the director clarified that the script was written exclusively for Ram Charan, dismissing rumors that it was originally meant for Jr NTR. Bankrolled by Vriddhi Cinemas and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the film is made on a massive budget of Rs 350 crores.

The movie features a strong ensemble cast alongside Ram Charan. Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead, bringing a fresh dynamic to the romantic track. The supporting cast includes Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar in the role of a mentor, Jagapathi Babu playing a powerful character named Appalasuri, and Divyendu Sharma in a crucial role. Art director Avinash has authentically recreated a 1985 Vizianagaram backdrop for the story.

To prepare for the raw wrestling sequences, Ram Charan trained for three to four months alongside local Telangana wrestlers and the coach from Dangal. During an action scene, the actor suffered a bleeding eye injury. While Buchi Babu feared Chiranjeevi's reaction to the mishap, the veteran actor instead laughed and asked for a video of the incident. Additionally, Chiranjeevi's wife, Surekha, became highly emotional after watching a specific sequence from the film.

The protagonist's journey spans three distinct phases, with the looks initially designed using AI. Featuring music by AR Rahman, the director admitted to hiding the song Massa Massa for two months while seeking alternatives, but Ram Charan accidentally heard it in his car and finalized it. Additionally, a crucial 15-minute emotional block has been intentionally kept out of the promotional trailers to preserve the theatrical experience.
