The film, conceived as part of the Prashant Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), has completed 125 days of extensive shooting and has now entered its final schedule. Mounted on a grand scale by RKD Studios, the project is progressing rapidly towards completion before moving into post-production.

The biggest update from the makers is that Mahakali is being filmed specifically for IMAX, underlining the team's vision of delivering a larger-than-life theatrical experience.
