The much-awaited sequel to Kalki 2898 AD is finally set to move into its next phase, with director Nag Ashwin confirming that the regular shoot will begin this October. Prabhas will join the sets as the team begins the extensive production schedule, with the makers targeting a mid-2027 wrap.

The update comes soon after the team of Kalki 2898 AD received two National Film Awards for Wholesome Entertainment and Special Effects. Nag Ashwin and the team recently collected the honours from President Droupadi Murmu, adding further momentum to the sequel’s preparations.

The overwhelming response and massive box-office success of Kalki 2898 AD have raised expectations considerably, while the makers are keen to expand the universe without compromising on its visual scale.

Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, who played pivotal roles in the first part, are also expected to join the shoot subsequently.
