Irumudi Trailer: Ravi Teja excels in this drama

Aug 12, 2026 6:08PM

Ravi Teja’s Irumudi has generated interest with its songs and promotional material, and the newly released trailer gives a further glimpse into what Shiva Nirvana has prepared. The trailer carries a positive vibe, with Ravi Teja’s performance and the father-daughter emotion standing out. At the same time, the footage suggests that the director is largely working within the familiar template seen in his previous family dramas rather than attempting something radically different.

Ravi Teja plays Trinadh, a regular driver and a loving father who wants to give his daughter Manemma, played by Baby Nakshatra, everything she desires. The actor gets a different character from his recent mass-oriented roles, and he looks convincing in the emotional portions. His body language and performance in the father-daughter scenes are among the trailer's strongest aspects.

The central conflict appears to revolve around the protection of girls with a larger conspiracy involving schools forming the dramatic backdrop. Shiva Nirvana combines this subject with family emotion, romance, action and spirituality through the Ayyappa Deeksha angle. These ingredients are familiar territory for the director, making the execution more important than the novelty of the basic template.

The trailer also gives enough space to the commercial elements. Ravi Teja gets several action moments, while the visuals of Mallepoola Vaana add a grand and spiritual flavour to the film. The production values look solid, and the trailer has been cut in a way that reveals the film's major elements without giving away too much of the actual story.

Overall, Irumudi doesn't appear to be promising a completely unfamiliar Shiva Nirvana film. Instead, it seems to follow his established approach of combining family relationships, emotion and a social issue with commercial ingredients.

The difference this time could be Ravi Teja, who appears particularly well suited to the role of Trinadh. The trailer certainly creates a positive impression, but whether the familiar formula translates into a satisfying theatrical experience will be known when Irumudi releases on August 21.
