The latest update from the mega camp is that VV Vinayak is not directing Ram Charan Tej’s Merupu movie. Sometime back rumors riff that Vinayak would be picking up Merupu project, which was supposed to be directed by Dharani. However, sources close to Geetha Arts say that Vinayak is only focusing on the script developed by Akula Shiva and would be geared up to direct Ram Charan for that script.
Tamil director Dharani, who worked on Merupu script for over a year, walked out of the project due to creative differences and contrasting perceptions with Chiranjeevi. In fact, megastar asked him either to reduce the budget or change the script but neither factors worked. Chiranjeevi was apprehensive about the big budget movies for Ram Charan after ‘Orange’ failure. The producers of Merupu are looking for few more directors and it would take some time before they get one while Ram Charan is currently working for 'Racha' under the direction of Sampath Nandi.
