West Godavari girl and model Vasuki Sunkavalli is beckoned with a rare distinction. In fact, Vasuki has been selected to represent India at the Miss Universe 2011 contest. The 26-year-old Hyderabadi settled girl was crowned Miss Universe India 2011 through former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen's Wadhawan Lifestyle ‘I Am She’ contest at a private ceremony here Friday night.
Two more crowns were given out. The ‘I Am She’ Globe International 2011 title was bagged by 23-year-old Parul Duggal, a fashion designer, while 19-year-old Tanvi Singla from Mysore won the ‘I Am She’ Asia Pacific 2011 title. Vasuki has won a cash prize of Rs.200,000, while Parul Duggal and Tanvi Singla won Rs.100,000 each. All three beauties will represent India at the International beauty pageants this year. Vasuki would now represent India in the Miss Universe contest that are scehduled to talce place in Brazil in 2011 September.
Sushmita Sen owns a production company Tantra Entertainment, which was awarded the India franchise by the Miss Universe Organization, last year, feels happy that her endeavour is now "three times larger". Speaking to the media, Vasuki said that she would give her best to bring back the crown.
