In the wake of dubbing movies sweeping the Telugu cinema market potential and dictating terms, the Andhra Pradesh Producer Council has decided to act tough on dubbed movies. They have instigated a committee to control the spate of dubbed movie releases in Andhra Pradesh.  This committee consists of top producers like Daggubati Suresh Babu, Dil Raju, Shyam Prasad Reddy and some exhibitors.

The committee is formed to put forth few interesting proposals like having Telugu movies should be released for big festivals Sankranthi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Deepavali, Dussera, etc. Further levy 40 to 50% Entertainment Tax on dubbed releases. And that’s not all; even the number of theaters for dubbed movies should also be restricted to around 85 screens in AP.
