Thalapathy Vijay Ghilli Highest grosser in re released films?

To the delight of Thalapathy Vijay’s fans, 2004 hit Ghilli had a re-release on April 20. The film, upon its re-release, was received very well by the fans and the public, garnering record numbers on its premiere day. 

Consequently, the film is also minting great numbers at the box office. The Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha-starrer re-released in select theatres after 20 years of its original release. The film was shown in 320 theatres in Tamil Nadu, becoming a hit in most regions, as per reports. 

This 20 year old industry hit, Ghilli comfortably breaches the 20CR mark at worldwide box office and aims off for 25 crores finish in full run. Ghilli footfalls in TamilNadu are greater than 2024 Tamil new release footfalls and the film collection in france are more than 2024 Tamil new releases. This is unprecedented and phenomenal.

According to industry insiders, it is being considered as the highest gross for a re-released film. The film released in Hyderabad and Chittoor areas. The shows getting full in minutes and got decent reception.

Ghilli is directed by Dharani, who has also written its screenplay. The film stars Vijay and Trisha as the protagonists, along with Prakash Raj, Ashish Vidyarthi, Tanikella Bharani and many others. It is produced by A M Rathnam under the banner of Sri Surya Movies. The music in the film is composed by Vidyasagar. Ghilli is the remake of Mahesh Babu starrer Telugu film titled Okkadu.
