In solidarity with the 'non co-operation' agitation by Telangana Joint Action Committee, Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce headed by President Vijayender Reddy has declared closure of all theaters in the Telangana region for two days on 22 and 23rd February. There will be no film shootings on these two days and film distribution offices also will not work. Even the Multiplexes in Hyderabad will not screen any movies in this period.
Mr. Vijayender Reddy told that more than 450 theaters in the Telangana region have stopped paying weekly entertainment tax to the government, which works out to around one crore rupees weekly. This non-payament of entertainment tax will continue for another week
