Superstar Rajinikanth has been working tirelessly from past decade. He did not take long gaps like he used in 90's and 2000's. Post Kabali, he worked in films like Kaala, 2.0, Petta, Darbar, Annatthe, Jailer, Lal Salaam, Vettaiyan without breaks. He is currently working in Coolie and has Jailer 2 coming up. So, he has decided to take a short break it seems. 

As per the news reports, the actor has been working continuously from past decade and hence, he is planning for a short three to four month break to relax. After this break, he will decide about his next films, say reports. Also, he did not commit to any film post Jailer 2. 

Several reports also suggest that Rajinikanth did not show much interest in working with Maari Selvaraj. After Kabali and Kaala, he got a name that he is working with politically influenced filmmakers and hence, he decided to not take such a step again, it seems. 

Maari Selvaraj and Pa. Ranjith have been producing films that talk about their political influences and Rajini wants to stay away from such remarks at this moment, it seems. In any case, Rajinikanth did face health issue while shooting for Coolie in the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj and hence, it might have taken decision to take rest for few months.
