Though Bindu has feelings for Nani, she never expresses it to him and by the time she reveals her feelings, Nani is dead. Later, Nani is reborn as fly ( 'Eega') to take revenge on Sudeep. What happens next ? Will 'Eega' takes his revenge on Sudeep and expresses its love to Bindu has to be watched on the big screen.
Analysis:
The movie starts with Rajamouli's narration of a story to his daughter. The first half of Eega offers hilarious love episodes between the lead pair, little emotion and a surprising interval bang. The scene where Sudeep kills Nani is not that convincing and in fact Rajamouli has tried to wrap it up to bring on Eega very early to the tale. However, the interval bang where Eega irritates Sudeep and how he met with an accident are wonderfully shot. As usual, Rajamouli has pumped up the adrenaline levels with the last 20 minutes episode of the first half. The scenes where 'Eega' starts safeguarding Samantha and confronts with Sudeep are appealing.
The second half of the movie begins with Nani trying to express Samantha that he was reborn as Eega is heart touching. The episodes where Samantha lends her support to Nani (Eega) and helps 'Eega' to take revenge on Sudeep are extremely funny. The movie loses its tempo for a while and eventually catches the pace with few commercial elements added to it. When compared to Rajamouli's earlier outings, Eega climax is different and emotional. The special effects are amazing and the team of Rajamouli must need special accolades for making Eega a visual grandeur. The way Rajamouli showcased the sacrifice of 'Eega' for the sake of Samantha is soothing. Only one song has been completely shot in the movie and the rest will entertain the audience in the form of back ground scores. Don't miss the end title cards for Eega shaking legs to the popular steps of Chiranjeevi, Jr NTR and Ravi Teja!
TeluguOne Perspective :
Undoubtedly, Rajamouli is a top film maker in Telugu cinema for the present era. His technical brilliance, concept and the way he executes the script is outstanding. Audience can see his hard work and efforts on the big screen in every frame. 'Eega' is definitely one of the best movies Tollywood has ever seen while taking its special effects into account. On the flip side, too much cinematic liberty has been taken and few scenes are not convincing.
Many people wondered why Rajamouli has revealed the plot of Eega even before the release of the film and now here comes a perfect reply for them. Eega was in making for the last two years and the entire efforts of the team has been evident onscreen. Eega is going to set a benchmark in Tollywood for its quality of film making and the kind of special effects used. Overall, 'Eega' movie will entertain kids in specific and is definitely going to remain in Telugu cinema for its technical brilliance.
Performances:
Nani did a fair job in his limited role. Samantha looked pale and has given a decent performance. Kiccha Sudeep is the show stealer with his histrionics and wonderful dialogue delivery. Tagubothu Ramesh's presence is felt. Eega character should be given a special appreciation and obviously that credit goes to Rajamouli. Rest of the star cast played to their potential.
Technicalities :
Janardhan Maharshi dialogues are good. MM Keeravani has once again provided some wonderful songs and excellent background music. His background score elevates the audience mood in some scenes. Cinematography by Senthil Kumar is brilliant and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is ordinary. Art work by Ravinder is fantastic and the production values of Vaarahi Chalana Chitram ara grand.
Positives :
Rajamouli Direction
Music and Background score
Sudeep's performance
Special Effects
Negatives:
Too much cinematic liberty
Final Word : Go for Eega for its technical brilliance with out looking for any logic.
Eega Rating : 3.25/5
