Story:
Venu(Sree) comes to city for his livelihood and falls for Jyothi (Urmila) who is good at heart. After some misunderstandings Venu realizes that he is in love with Jyothi. Suddenly, Venu is picked up by police as a suspect and he narrates his story to the Inspector. The rest is all about how law fails to do justice to the poor Venu.
Analysis:
Premalo Padite is all about 2 couples,a crime and investigation by cops. Though the director has used MMS scandals concept,it has been well narrated without any obscenity. First half of the movie is mainly concentrated on Venu and Jyothi. The protagonist is a good guy who works in a roadside shop where he comes across Jyothi, who works in the adjacent apartments and then Venu develops love for Jyothi. However, the film has got more in the flashback mode.
Second half starts with another story of Aarti(Manisha) and Ritesh(Mithun). Ritesh leads a lavish life and is obsessed to watch porn. As it happens, Aarthy falls for him without knowing his past and intentions. A series of happenings lead to a crime and the entire scene is passed on to inspector who investigates the crime. 'Premalo Padite' has got 2 songs in which First one has only vocals (without any instruments) and second song is all about love and its side effects. Interestingly, producer Suresh Kondeti has done a cameo in this special song. Though his dances doesn’t appeal to the audience, lyrics of the song are good.
TeluguOne Perspective :
Director Balaji Shaktivel left no stone unturned in taking a serious issue which is haunting teenagers today. His narration is very close to reality and audience will definitely feel that the things just unfold almost next to them. The film has lot of new comers and everyone has done their part well in their limitations. Though Premalo Padithe is well made, excess of Tamil flavor in the first half might not appeal to the Telugu audience. Climax of the movie is really heartbreaking and director succeeded in showing us the sacrifice in love.
Performances :
Sree as the worker gets under the skin of his character to give his best, while Urmila is impressive. Mithun Murali as Ritesh is tailor-made for the role, his desperation has been depicted well. Manisha Yadav is apt for the role and delivered a decent performance. Suresh Kondeti fails to impress with his dances as they sounded a bit cranky.
Technicalities:
Cinematography by Vijay Milton should get an applause and music director Prassanna's background score is fantastic. Production values are poor. Editing could have been better in the first half.
Final Word: One gets a mixed feel of watching 'Premisthe' and 'Shopping Mall' again while watching 'Premalo Padithe'. Movie buffs can watch the movie but recommended to common audience only if you don’t know how to kill your time.
Rating: 2.5/5
