Updated : May 20, 2026

Prashanth Neel has revealed a few more interesting details about Dragon, and they are quite different from what many expected after the glimpse release. Starring Jr NTR alongside Rukmini Vasanth, Anil Kapoor and Biju Menon, the film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, with Ravi Basrur composing the music and Bhuvan Gowda handling cinematography.

During his interaction with Baradwaj Rangan, Neel clarified that Dragon is not just another rugged action drama built around elevations and large-scale action blocks. The filmmaker stressed that the film carries a strong patriotic emotional thread at its core, something he reportedly wanted to approach without making it feel preachy or overly dramatic.

Neel also made an interesting comment about the antagonist, hinting that Dragon will feature one of the most brutal and powerful villains he has written so far. He further suggested that the scale mounted around the character is massive, with industry discussions already speculating that the antagonist portions alone are being designed on an unusually expensive scale.

The comments have now increased curiosity around the film’s conflict structure, especially because Neel’s previous films like KGF and Salaar became popular for their larger-than-life antagonists as much as their heroes. With Jr NTR leading the film, Dragon is increasingly shaping up as a politically charged action drama rather than just a conventional commercial entertainer. Dragon is scheduled for release on June 11, 2027.
