National Award for Prakash Raj: Versatile actor Prakash Raj produced movie gets National Award - 'Puttakkana Highway' a Kannada movie. This is a fabulous achievement by this skilled artiste and this once again shows that he's also a great producer.  Another highlight is that Prakash Raj gets the award on the same stage where his mentor and guru K Bala Chander received Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Puttakkana Highway is directed by B Suresh and produced by Prakash Raj himself also co-starring Shruti. Once again Prakash Raj shows that he's not just only a versatile actor but also an efficient producer

Praskash Raj earlier won the National Film Award for Best Actor in 2009 for his role in Kanchivaram, a Tamil film directed by Priyadarshan and won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1998 for the Mani Ratnam film Iruvar.
