Panja Vaishnav Tej's recent film Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga, which was released on Pawan Kalyan's birthday, failed to captivate the audience. The makers expected 11 crores in the first weekend for the given budget and promotional efforts. The first weekend share collection, however, was less than 3 crores.
According to reliable sources, the film's budget and publicity could have cost up to 28 crores. Non-theatrical revenue totaled 21 crores. The remaining seven crores should be earned by the theatres.
With the unanimous disaster talk, it is a certainty that half of the collections will not come this week. Unfortunately, Vaishnav Tej's expectations of scoring a hit with this film have been shattered following the failure of his previous film Kondapolam.
Mega heroes failed to impress audiences with their films this year. Chiru, Charan, Varun Tej, and now Vaishnav Tej have all joined the list.
With his first film, Uppena, he received critical acclaim as a debut hero and was also a commercial success. Again, the two films that following were flops. It remains to be seen if this will change with the fourth film or will he end up as One film Wonder.
