Yesterday evening, the Government of India announced the 2024 Padma Awards. The government declared Padma Vibhushan for Megastar Chiranjeevi, the matinee idol of Tollywood. Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award in India after Bharata Ratna.

Chiranjeevi is the second Tollywood actor after Akkineni Nageswar Rao and the seventh actor in India to be honored with this prestigious award. Chiranjeevi was bestowed with Padma Bhushan in 2006. Chiranjeevi is chosen for this award for his exceptional service to art and society.

Even during COVID-19, Chiru helped a lot of cine workers and arranged oxygen cylinders for many in need. From a constable’s son to being the top star in Telugu cinema, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s journey is just incredible.
