Hyderabad is the fourth city to announce its franchise for the all new motorsport league, the i1 Super Series, with Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna and his associates being confirmed as the owner of the city team.
Earlier franchise owners include Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan for Mumbai, Hotelier Arjun Baljee for Bangalore and Management Guru Arindam Choudhury for Delhi.
The highly anticipated i1 Super Series, charted on the popular city based franchisee format, will have 9 teams representing 9 different cities from across the country with each team having a driver of Indian origin and an International driver per car marking a new dimension to Indian Motorsports.
Announcing the partnership, Ms.Anjana Reddy, Director, Machdar Motorsports, said, "I am very pleased to announce that we have finalized on our team owners for the Hyderabad for the upcoming i1 Super Series to take place in January, 2012. It is a huge boost to us to have a star like Nagarjuna to be part owner of the Hyderabad franchisee. He has been the face of Hyderabad cinema for a long time and is an excellent addition for the i1 Super Series.”

I am confident this league promoted by Machdar Sports will prove to be the platform to showcase India as a powerful entity in the world of motorsports and entertain the young new generation of India.”
About i1 series:
i1 Super Series is the all new motorsport racing league promoted by Machdar Motorsport. The i1 Super Series will consist of 12 races with 9 teams representing different Indian cities. The inaugural i1 Super Series season will begin in January 2012 and be held in India, UAE, Malaysia, Bahrain and Qatar. The teams will race the Radical Sports cars' SR3 roadster in the sports car racing series. Each team will be represented by two drivers. At least one driver for each team must be driver of Indian origin. Teams will compete for a USD 2 Million prize.
