Analysis :
Mr Pellikoduku film starts with the introduction song of Sunil, which the audience can look out for a nice dance moves from this comedian-turned hero. First half of the film is filled with some funny episodes and Ali, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Ahuthi Prasad etc brings few smiles. Isha Chawla gives a big twist to the story before the interval and the audience will feel that the second half is going to be very interesting.
Here, the director has completely failed. Nothing much to say about this part as the director tried to concentrate more on Sunil's good Samaritan character. Unwanted songs, too much dance moves and outdated comedy will definitely test the patience of the audience.
Teluguone Perspective :
Director Devi Prasad has nothing to do in 'Mr Pellikoduku' except changing the script according to our nativity, as this film is a remake of Bollywood hit film 'Tanu Weds Manu'. The best part of the Hindi version is, though there is nothing new in the story, Characterization of lead actors, dialogues and the music made the film work at the box-office. All these elements are completely missing in 'Mr Pellikoduku'. Gone are the days when the heroines used to fall for heroes by seeing their innocence and good nature even after rejecting them once.
Sunil worked hard and improvised his dancing skills. But he needs to understand that the audience are not expecting terrific moves in each and every song. Another element is his six-pack body. Agreed that he has worked very hard to build his physique but removing shirt unnecessarily doesn't do any good for him. Isha Chawla is good and she is glamorous in the songs. Not a decent comeback for SA Rajkumar as well, his music and Background score has nothing new to offer.
Performances :
Sunil's dance moves are good in some parts and its time for him to seriously think of changing the genre of the subjects he choose. Isha Chawla is perfect for the role on Anjali and she definitely have the chances to make it big. Ali, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Ahuti Prasad have done their job. Ravi Babu is ok.
Technicalities :
As said, songs and the background music are boring. Sameer Reddy;s cinematography is neat and the dialogues are good only in some episodes. Editing by Nandamuri Hari could have been better. Director Devi Prasad, who is good at making comedy movies has completely failed this time.
Positives :
Isha Chawla
Some dance moves of Sunil and the comedy episodes in first half
Negatives :
Boring second half
Songs
Dragging of scenes
Final Word : A Bad Remake of 'Tanu Weds Manu'. Watch it at your own risk.
Mr Pellikoduku Rating : 2.5/5
