Mohanlal, the biggest star of Malayalam Cinema and legends of Indian Cinema, has decided to direct his first film, Barroz 3D. The movie is releasing on 25th December for Christmas. The actor has been promoting the film and he opened up about it in one of the interviews.

He stated that he loved the story after reading to make the movie but he actually wanted to bring 3D theatre and perform a play in India. He ventured into the process of setting up everything but as it needs a lot more funds, he decided to go for filming Barroz in 3D.

Mohanlal excitedly stated that he doesn't plan his performances and similarly, he did not plan his shots too early. He stated that with cinematographer Santhosh Sivan, he has a great rapport and hence, they have decided to get some typical long shots that fit with music in 3D.

He further expressed confidence in Santhosh Sivan winning another National Award for his spell-binding work. But the actor stated that he doesn't want to direct ever again. He reasoned that as an actor he is creatively collaborating with many talented youngsters and he doesn't want to take director's chair far too often.

Mohanlal made very interesting comments about new filmmakers who come to make film with him. He stated that they should not see him as Mohanlal, the star but an actor. He wants to be seen as an actor by them who needs to be pushed from his comfort zone.

Well, Barroz 3D is adapated to screen from the book Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure. The film has many International actors being true to the Portuguese roots of the story. Mohanlal categorised it as an herculean task for him but he stated that he loved every bit of filming it.
