Indian cinema witnessed a proud and emotional moment as several iconic personalities from different industries were honoured with prestigious Padma Awards for their contribution to arts and entertainment. The recognition celebrated decades of dedication, performances and influence across generations.

Malayalam megastar Mammootty added another milestone to his illustrious journey by receiving the Padma Bhushan. Veteran Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad, celebrated for his comic brilliance and versatility, was also among the honoured names.

Veteran actor and former parliamentarian Murali Mohan received the Padma Shri for his contribution to cinema and public service. Legendary playback singer Alka Yagnik was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, recognising a musical journey that shaped multiple generations of Indian film music.

Actor-filmmaker Madhavan was awarded the Padma Shri, marking another major achievement in a career that successfully expanded across Tamil and Hindi cinema. One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony came with veteran Hindi cinema icon Dharmendra receiving the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour. 

Since the legendary actor passed away attend the ceremony in person, actress and parliamentarian Hema Malini received the award on his behalf, making it one of the most memorable highlights of the event. Similarly, popular comic artist Satish Shah received Padma Shri postumously.
