Veteran filmmaker, actor and writer K. Bhagyaraj, widely regarded as one of Tamil cinema's greatest storytellers, passed away on Saturday following a cardiac arrest. He was 73. Reports suggest he was rushed to a private hospital in Chennai after collapsing at his residence, where doctors declared him dead. Bhagyaraj began his career as an assistant to legendary filmmaker Bharathiraja before making a remarkable mark as a director, writer and actor.
