Updated : Sep 15, 2015

With various rumours and accusations coming out that "Kanche" is a movie that is based on English film "Dear John", director Krish has come forward to give clarity. He stated that there is true inspiration behind this film but not any copied ideas.

"While making Vedam with Allu Arjun, I've been to Navy Museum in Vizag. There I saw that inactive bomb that was dropped by the Japanese forces on a ship carrying tonnes of ammunition off Vizag Coast. That gave me an inspiration to write a story in that backdrop", said Krish.

Also he added that there is another museum in Karaikudi, Tamilnadu that hosts the historic facts related to participation of Indian soldiers in World War II. He confirmed that all these ideas helped him weave a story for Kanche but not any Hollywood movie.

Kanche features Varun Tej and Pragya Jaiswal in the leads. It is slated for a October 2nd release.
