The combination of Young Tiger NTR and music director MM Keeravani has delivered hits with films like 'Student No:1', 'Simhadri' and 'Yamadonga'. Now, the duo has teamed up for yet another action entertainer 'Dammu' directed by Boyapati Seenu. The album has 5 songs including a special song confined to the audio version itself. Let's check out 'Dammu' movie audio review.

1. O Lilly

Singers: Baba Sehgal and Chorus

The song reminds us one of the chart-buster songs in recent times. Baba Sehgal's voice is dominated by instruments and the chorus. This is a completely different song from Keeravani and the music dominates the voice of the song with some hollow lyrics. It is shocking to see Chandrabose degrading his reputation with some meaningless lyrics by the day.

2. Ruler (Movie and CD version)

Singers: Prudhvi Chandra, Geeta Madhuri, Revanth and Sahiti

The number starts with rap music naming several kingdoms, etc. It is strange and confusing to see this kind of music from Keeravani. The song reminds us of 'Maha Rudra Shakti', a popular number from 'Shakti' movie. Ruler song is very loud and totally messed up. The female singer comes in suddenly and the song's tempo is lost thus disappointing music lovers. This song will make the fans go berserk in theaters only if the picturization is good.

3. Raja Vasi Reddy

Singers: MM. Keeravani, Krishna Chaitanya and chorus

I think Keeravani hasn't worked much to compose this song as the beats and the interludes were reused from his earlier films. The song starts with Raju Vachinaado thus giving a classic feel and then comes Nuvvu whistle esthe Andhra Soda Buddi thus making it a sound dominated one with mass lyrics. Keeravani has sung this song and I wonder why he has chosen this one. The song looks more like the one which is being played in road side dramas for festivals. The rap mix is OK but the song is humdrum for its re-usability concept.

4. Vaasthu Bagundhe

Singers: Rahul Sipilgunj, Sivani and Shravana Bhargavi

This is an out and out mass song which has been composed keeping in view of NTR's mass image. Again, the lyrics are meaningless and Chandrabose has done a just OK job. This song has been shot with four heroines in the film and one can expect the fans go wild watching it onscreen. Credit should be given to Keeravani for composing it with such a racy beat and interludes. The music is very loud and it seems Keeravani has preferred sound to melody in this song once again.

5. Dammu

Singers: Rahul Sipilgunj, Sivani and Shravana Bhargavi

Firstly, I wonder how the words Dammu and Sommu relate to each other. Only Chandrabose can explain this or we have to see this onscreen. The song seems to be stale and reminds us one of the songs from Keeravani's films 'Lahari Lahrilo' and 'Seetharamaraju'. It seems Sivani has sung the song without any interest and Shravana Bhargavi is just OK. Rahul Sipilgunj is good and carried the tempo of the song with tremendous energy.

Analysis: Overall, Dammu music offers nothing new and its yet another sound dominated one. It was so shocking to see Keeravani preferring to score songs leaving his trademark class and melody. Dammu audio will only satisfy fans of NTR, only to some extent. Considering the super hit combo of Keeravani and NTR, Dammu album fails to reach the expectations and if I have to say my pick despite all the negatives - Ruler, Raja Vasi Reddy and Vaasthu Bagundhe are the ones to listen.

Tailpiece: If I’m a Nandamuri fan I would prefer 'Adhinayakudu' audio to 'Dammu'.
