South Superstars won the opening Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) match by 36 runs against Mumbai Heroes in Visakhapatnam (Vizag). Celebrity Cricket League received huge craze as several fans came to cheer this match.

South Superstars batted first and scored 192 runs in 20 overs. And punctuating this was Taraka Ratna with a blistering 30 from 13 balls, Captain Victory Venkatesh made 27 from 20 balls and Adarsh Balakrishna scroed 48 from 28 balls. In fact, the South Superstars at one stage were 8 down for 125 runs in the 14th over. But Victory Venkatesh and Adarsh Balakrishna rescued the team and helped them score a healthy total

Chasing a formidable score under lights, Mumbai Heroes managed to put up a decent show but fell short of 36 runs in the end. Film stars Sonu Sood, Richa Gangaopadhyay, Genelia were all there to lend support and lift the spirits. Adarsh picked up a couple of wickets and was awarded man of the match.
