Kollywood actor and DMDK party leader Vijayakanth garu passed away today while undergoing treatment at Myat Hospital in Chennai. The actor recently recovered from health issues and was joined again as he got positive for COVID.

He was on ventilator and his last breath was today morning. On the occasion of his death, shows were canceled in theaters in Tamil Nadu today.

Born on August 25, 1952 in Madurai, Vijayakanth founded the DMDK party on September 14, 2005. In 2005, he was elected as an MLA for the first time. Vijaykanth was the leader of every party in 2011.

Vijayakanth was last seen in Mathura Veeran (2018). Vijayakanth has two sons. Vijayakanth got special recognition as an action hero. Many of his films have been remade in Telugu as well. Many celebrities shared condolences.
