Positives:

1. Plot
2. First Half
3. BGM
4. Dialogues
5. Mahesh Babu

Negatives:

1. Second Half
2. Songs
3. Romantic Track

Analysis:

Political drama films with star cast has less success rate, which is the reason why top stars won’t show much interest to do movies in the genre. Oke Okkadu directed by Shankar was a path-breaking film in Indian cinema history. Sekhar Kammula’s Leader was also a good attempt but unnecessary love track in second half played spoilsport. Bharat Ane Nenu has shades of both these films. While assembly episodes, Mahesh Babu’s resolutions remind us of Leader, his visits to villages, taking severe action against political leaders and government officials are akin to Oke Okkadu. Traffic signal, assembly, cabinet meeting and tea party meeting in party office are major highlights in first half, wherein local governance, press meet to counsel media are high points in second half. While first half was engaging, movie became regular and sluggish in second half. Mahesh Babu and Kiara’s romantic track was biggest drawback of the film.

Artists Performances:

Mahesh Babu looked charismatic as chief minister. He wore mostly formal costumes and his panche kattu avatar in Vachadayyo Saamy was adorable. Mahesh indeed gave wonderful performance, especially in key sequences. Kiara Advani looked gorgeous as Mahesh Babu’s love interest, though she got very less space to show her acting skills. Though romantic track was usual, chemistry between the lead pair is magical. Prakash Raj is exceptional in the role of party president. Rao Ramesh was good as Kiara’s father. Brahmaji provided some laughs here and there. Ajay was good. Other artists played their role proficiently.

Technical Aspect:

Koratala Siva’s friend Srihari Nanu provided basic story of the film. In fact, plot of the film and her characterization are biggest assets of the film. There are hardly any boring elements in first half. However, due to regular writing second half appears sluggish. Dialogues are thought provoking. Director Koratala Siva questioned many loopholes in political system. In fact, his views raise many questions among ourselves. Devi Sri Prasad provided wonderful and fascinating background score, though he botched to offer pleasing album. Cinematography by Ravi K Chandran and Tirru is other big asset of the film. Production values of DV Entertainments are top notch.

Verdict:

Bharat Ane Nenu is definitely a worth-watching film. However, a better second half would further hoist prospects on the film. Box office verdict is sure shot hit.
