Story:
Politician Harish Chandra Prasad (Balakrishna in old get up) dedicates his life to serve the poor and the needy. He brings foreign investors to India for an iron project. Rama Krishna Prasad(Balakrishna second role) like his father , always thinks about people and their welfare. He rescues his father from his political enemies. Meanwhile, to kill Harish Chandra Prasad, Veerappa (Pradeep Rawat) with the help of Charan Raj kidnaps Bobby (young Balakrishna). Bobby meets his father after 25 years and to his surprise, Rama Krishna Prasad was reluctant to accept Bobby as his son. How Bobby convinces Krishna Prasad and whether he has succeeded in his mission or not is the rest of the story.
Analysis :
Director Paruchuri Murali mainly focussed on comedy and family drama in the first half. The interval bang raises the expectations on the second half with a twist added to it. Though, the scenes between Balakrishna and Brahmanandam are hilarious the rest of the story fails to impress the audience.
Second half is the soul for the movie. Director Paruchuri Murali has taken special care on dialogues in the second half , especially for the character of Harish Chandra Prasad. He should be appreciated for giving a dignified elderly look to Balakrishna. His dances in 'Andam Aakumadi' song is a feast for the fans. Director didn't lost the grip till end and made all the efforts to make it a family entertainer. The second half is well balanced with adequate sentiment and gripping screenplay, thanks to the presence of Jayasudha. The climax episode is simple and could have been handled better. A special mention to 'Adhigo Adhigadhigo' song which has raised the tempo of the elder Balakrishna's presence.
Teluguone Perspective :
Balakrishna is apt for all the three roles. His performance as Harischandra Prasad is evokes applause from the audience. One will definitely wonder for his dance moments at the age of 52. Heroine Lakshmi Rai doesn't have much scope in this film and she is confined to couple of scenes. She is gorgeous in all the songs and her oomph and ooze factor is a treat for the front benchers. Saloni sizzles in a cameo. Director should have taken care about the photography, especially when he is directing a star like Balakrishna. Overall, 'Adhinayakudu' is the movie for Balakrishna's mass and class fans. If there is proper pre release publicity things would have been different at box office.
Performances :
Balakrishna is the main asset for the movie. His energetic performance and excellent dialogue delivery has covered most of the flaws in the movie. Balakrishna's dance is 'Olammi' and 'Andam Aakumadi' were splendid. His action reminded of Sr NTR in many scenes. He has given his best for all the 3 charecters. Lakshmi Rai was hot and did her glamour job very well. Jayasudha, Kota Srinivasa were decent. Bramhanandam's comedy track was good and will give few smiles.
Technical Performance:
Though Paruchuri Murali came up with an old story, his narrations style and screenplay was good. His directorial skills must be aprreciated, especially for the elderly get up of Balakrishna. He has put all his efforts to make sure that 'Adhinayakudu' is a family entertainer. Kalyani Malik's songs are ok and re recording is poor. Cinematography could have been better. Ram Laxman did a decent job with fights. Editing is ordinary. Graphics and special effects are tawdry.
Positives:
Balakrishna's energetic performance
Couple of songs
Dialogues
Lakshmi Rai Glamour
Negatives :
Back ground score not upto the mark as much was expected from Kalyani Malik
Cinematography
Quality of Graphics could have been better
Adhinayakudu Rating : 3.50/5
Final Word: 'Adhinayakudu' is a pot purri for Nandamuri Fans and it will be a decent family entertainer for other audience. Watch it if you love to see Balayya playing different roles.
