Ayesha Khan, who recently grabbed attention for her appearance in the song from Dhurandhar, has alleged that she was detained by Mumbai Police while participating in a protest supporting NEET students. The actress shared a series of videos and posts on Instagram documenting the incident, which has since gone viral on social media.
According to Ayesha, she had reached Dadar with her brother and a few friends to express solidarity with the protesting students. She claimed that her brother and several male friends were detained shortly after they arrived, and that she was later taken into custody despite not actively participating in the protest. In one of her videos recorded from inside a police van, the actress said her hands were "shivering" and questioned why she was being detained for simply standing on the roadside peacefully.
Ayesha also posted footage showing four women police personnel escorting her into the police vehicle. She further alleged that she had not created any disturbance or even joined a group of protesters before being detained. Later updates from her Instagram Stories revealed that she and others were taken to the Worli Police Station.
The actress' detention comes amid growing nationwide demonstrations over alleged irregularities in the education system. Mumbai has witnessed multiple protests over the past few days, with police detaining several demonstrators as authorities attempt to control gatherings across the city.
Ayesha's posts have sparked widespread debate online, with many social media users reacting to her account of the incident while discussions surrounding the ongoing student protests continue to dominate headlines.
