The Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) demanded to arrest hero Kamal Haasan and impose ban on the Tamil version of reality show "Bigg Boss" for violating Indian and Tamil culture.
HMK also demanded the police to arrest "Bigg Boss" show contestants such as Oviya, Namitha, Ganja Karuppu, Harathi etc. They cited 'intimate scenes' and vulgarity being portrayed on the show which they feel is against the Indian Culture.
"The participants are mouthing obscene statements and are acting 75 per cent unclothed. It is also derogative of Tamil culture and hurts the sentiments of seven crore Tamilians. They should be arrested under law because they are hurting Tamil culture and the programme should be banned," read the statement.
The "Bigg Boss" show, which went on air June 25 on Star Vijay, marks the television debut of Kamal Haasan. It may be mentioned here that, Jr NTR will host Telugu version of "Bigg Boss" show which will begin from 16th of this month.
