Analysis:
Arjun Reddy is story of a young guy who is arrogant, but top student in his college. He doesn’t care anybody in the world, but is truthful to his father and other family members. This guy falls flat for a simple looking girl Shalini who just joined the college. Vijay takes extra care of her and makes sure that she is happy always. He badly hits another college guy who teases her, and at the same time he takes a promise from him as not to trouble her anymore in life. This episode shows how madly deeply he is in love with Shalini. Meantime, Shalini too starts liking him. They enjoy life like anything. When they are done with their education, they go to their respective houses. Shalini’s father has bad opinion on Vijay, so he rejects his daughter marriage with him. After Shalini gets married to another guy, Vijay can’t digest this and becomes addicted to alcohol and drugs. The episodes of Vijay leading lone life are shown deeply. Vijay unintentionally commits a mistake which causes further damage to his life. When he decides to change himself for his family, he sees pregnant Shalini at a park. Although second half is far too stretched, climax episodes are heart-touching.

Artists Performances:
Vijay Deverakonda mesmerizes with his acting abilities. He didn’t actually play the role of Arjun Reddy, but he lived in it. We can’t imagine any other artist in the role, other than him, since it was a tough role to play because of many variations physically and character wise from start to end. While he was seen lean in college days episodes, he bulked up physique for current episodes. He is no less than a Bollywood hero, looks wise. In a particular episode where he dons trendy shades and wear funky costumes to meet a film heroine, Vijay Deverakonda appears like a Greek hero with fully grown hair and beard. Actress Shalini Pandey is not a stunning beauty. But, she is a performer. It needs guts for anyone to play such bold role. Her chemistry with Vijay was amazing. Rahul Ramakrishna, who played Vijay’s friend, was humorous. He tickles our funny bones with his comedy timing. He gives big relax, whenever scenes go overboard with Vijay’s heavy episodes. Other artists were cool.

Technical Aspect:
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga penned an interesting and compelling story, but he should have trimmed the film for 15 to 20 minutes, especially in second half. He was superb in character designing and depicting emotions. He gave enough of space for all the artists to perform by opting to can lengthy episodes. Pre-interval sequence will span for few minutes, where hero and heroine converse for few minutes continuously. Music director Radhan is one of the biggest assets for the movie. Besides giving wonderful tunes, he fascinated with his BGM. Cinematography by Raju Thota was notable. Production values of Bhadrakali Pictures are too good for the budget.

Verdict:
Arjun Reddy is strictly for youth. The movie has high chances to do well in multiplexes as well as mass centers, since it has something for each section.
