Speculations are still rife about the Sanjay Dutt's biopic's leading ladies. While several names are being thrown around, Anushka Sharma’s has been leading the pack to play Madhuri Dixit or Sanjay’s wife Manyata. Raju Hirani will collaborate with Abhijat Joshi and Ranbir Kapoor will play the titular character in the biopic. But now the news is that Anushka Sharma will play a small role of a journalist in the movie.

The dates have been sorted now, and it has come to light that Anushka will play a scribe who chronicle Dutt's life as it progresses. The role is a cameo, and the PK actor was game for it when the makers approached her for it, as reported by a leading national daily. This will be Anushka-Ranbir's third collaboration after Bombay Velvet and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

The biopic has been in development hell,figuring out the props, the supporting cast for making a movie on the life of an actor like Sanjay Dutt, whose life is so massively documented. However, it will be interesting to see how the biopic turns out and will it bring Ranbir's career out of the shadows of doom. Hirani has already documented the scene of Dutt’s real life release as he walked out a free man earlier this year on February 25.
