Analysis:
Anando Brahma is definitely not a regular horror comedy film. In fact, director Mahi V Raghav didn't waste much time to enter into the original story. Taapsee and family enter an old house. However, they see ghosts in the house. Unexpected twist here is actually Taapsee and other family members are the real ghosts and the people whom they think of ghosts had actually come to have a look at the house to buy it. Then, they decide to scare everyone visits the house as to stay there until their wish will be fulfilled. When nobody dares to stay in the house as to prove there's no ghost in the house, Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar, Vennela Kishore and Thagubothu Ramesh come forward to stay in the house for four days since they are in dire need of money. Though there's nothing much in the first half with only characters introduction and Taapsee and family frightening few people, actual fun starts in second half after Srinivas Reddy and batch enter the house. The each guy has different problem which give excess of amusement to spectators. On the last day and when they are in helpless situation, actual twist and flashback in the story revealed- how Taapsee and family members are killed. The flashback episode is emotive. Then, movie ends on happy note.
Artists Performances:
Though Taapsee Pannu is promoted as main lead of the film, she got less space compared to other lead cast in the film. However, Taapsee gave nice performance and she looked gorgeous in decent and homely costumes. Srinivas Reddy, Shakalaka Shankar, Vennela Kishore and Thagubothu Ramesh batch has provided adequate comedy. Especially, Shakalaka Shankar's episodes, where he imitates top stars and plays unknowingly with ghosts tickle our funny bones. Rajeev Kanakala is a big surprise in the film. He played the role with negative shades convincingly. Raja Ravindra is also good as corrupt cop. Vijaychander, Raghu and the little kid were cool. Other artists were okay.
Technical Aspect:
Director Mahi V Raghav is genius. He penned second half cleverly by including good dose of entertainment. Nonetheless, he should have worked on first half which caters almost nothing. Fortunately, the movie doesn't have any songs. Krishna Kumar has given fascinating background score. Anish Tharun Kumar's cinematography is other big asset of the film. Production values of 70 MM Entertainments are exceptional for a small time film.
Verdict:
Anando Brahma is a decent entertainer with adequate comedy. Better first half would have helped this movie to get unanimous hit talk. Let's see how this film performs at mass centers...
