Akhil will be tribal leader in the periodic drama?

The young sensation Akhil Akkineni failed to impress audience with his previous film Agent, directed by Surender Reddy. The film became a biggest disaster at the box office. The actor is currently on a break. Fans and audience wants to see his massive comeback.

Amidst all this, there is a strong buzz about the actor's next project. Akhil’s next will be produced by popular production house UV Creations, as we reported. The rumour is going on for over 8 months.

According to our sources, the pre-production of this untitled film is going at a brisk pace, with the principal photography set to kick off in two-three months from now. We've exclusively learnt that "The film is a period emotional drama set in the 11th century. Akhil will be playing a tribal character. There’s no socio-fantasy touch to it at all as speculated."

As there are no references as such, the team is developing everything – the costumes, actors’ looks, production design and weapons etc – from scratch. This will be Akhil’s biggest-budgeted flick until date. The actor is in prep mode for the part, growing his hair and beard.

The team is also scouting for locations right now. The film will be shot within the country, particularly in forests. Hyderabad will host the indoor portions. The film helmed by debutant director Anil Kumar, who worked for Saaho as an associate director. Rumours about the film title says, it titled as Dheera.

Now we have to wait for the official announcement from the team. The latest we hear is that the makers decided to arrange official launch of this project in 2024 second half. India's pride SS Rajamouli is guiding the young director on this fantasy project and presenting the project.
