Updated : Apr 10, 2026

Adivi Sesh seems to have missed his target with his highly anticipated film, Dacoit. Despite being in production for over two years, the movie has opened to highly mixed reactions, leaving many audiences expressing their disappointment. The initial reactions built up a lot of hope, but the final product did not reach into audiences as anticipated.

A major reason for this underwhelming response is the uneven VFX and a same old template screenplay that offers nothing fresh. It appears that Sesh’s deliberate attempt to gain widespread commercial hero acceptance has worked against him this time.

While his co-star Mrunal Thakur is getting praises for her solid performance, Sesh is facing a surprising amount of criticism. Even his usually praised screenplay skills and keen eye in execution are being tarnished by several people for being too illogical and disjointed.

Audiences expected a tight and thrilling experience, but the execution struggled to hold interest. The forced commercial elements diluted the core story, making the overall narrative feel unnatural. Considering the mostly negative response and mixed word of mouth, it is going to be a long rope for the actor to secure a clean hit from this particular project.
