Actress Nikhita Thukral made decent inroads into Tollywood, Kollywood and Sandalwood. Freshly, the ban on Nikitha by Kannada Film Producers' Association has evoked sharp reactions from the industry. The actress was banned for three years for her alleged affair with leading actor Darshan that has led to his marital discord between him and his wife.

Actor Darshan was arrested on Friday and was sent to judicial custody for 2 weeks after his wife accused of assaulting her. His wife alleged that Darshan tried to trigger a bullet in a drunken state. Nikitha playing the female lead in a film, Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna, based on freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna, in which Darshan is playing the lead role. Leading actors like Girish Karnad and Girish Kasarvalli have come out in support of Nikitha saying that why should Nikitha be punished if Darshan in found guilty?
